Our Trustees
Our Trustees have responsibility for the management and administration of the charity
Wendy Jones
Single mum Wendy cared for her mum who had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and now wants to support other families affected by this disease. She lives in Carnforth and helps to organise and run the Morecambe Bay support groups. She is also employed by Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis as a regional support co-ordinator for Wales and the north of England.
Her hobbies include walking her lurcher, salsa dancing and jewellery making. She is also actively involved with her church.
Tim Gatheral
Tim is a Consultant Respiratory Physician and lead ILD consultant at University Hospitals Morecambe Bay. He helped establish the North West ILD Service and works closely with other Consultants in the Northwest.
Tim trained at Cambridge and then London before moving to the Northwest.
Outside of work Tim is a keen runner and Cellist with the Westmoreland Orchestra
Martin Jones
Martin is a trustee and set up the charity with his sister Wendy after the death of their mum as a result of IPF. He lives in Derby and after working for Rolls-Royce for over 30 years now works as a technical advisor to a number of businesses as well as being a flying instructor.
He lives with his partner Sharon and their cockapoo Ruby who loves a long walk to the local pub. When not teaching people to fly, Martin enjoys flying his own aircraft around the country and Europe. He is passionate about making a difference and strongly believes that providing support to carers, friends and family of those diagnosed with PF is very important.
Natalie Waddington
Natalie is the ILD Specialist Nurse in Morecambe Bay.
Natalie provides support for patients with ILD as well as reviewing patients in clinic. Monitoring antifibrotic therapy and preparing patients for MDT discussion is a big part of her work.
The other part is keeping the doctors in order!
Pat Haslam
Pat is a Respiratory Doctor and member of the ILD team in Morecambe Bay. He is also the Clinical Director for the Community Teams in Morecambe Bay.
Pat trained in London and then Somerset before moving to Lancaster to complete GP training. In 2023 he left general practice and moved into Respiratory medicine.
When he isn't tidying up after his daughters he enjoys playing the guitar and building amplifiers.
